Op 8 december verschijnt thriller Leave the World Behind pas op Netflix, maar filmliefhebbers praten er nu al over. Het apocalyptische plot is gebaseerd op de gelijknamige bestseller van Rumaan Alam.. Dat een alom bejubeld boek niet altijd een goede film oplevert, bewijst Leave the World Behind (2023) maar weer eens. In een veel te lange en pretentieuze film waarin maar bar weinig gebeurt, is het wachten op de aftiteling. Zwart-wit. Upper-class stel Amanda Sandford (Julia Roberts) en Clay Sandborn (Ethan Hawke) en hun twee kinderen Archie.
